Grunauer also features an extensive beer, wine and spirits list, along with a unique, handcrafted cocktail menu served in the Wunderbar, a space which the Grunauer’s hope will become a hub of Crossroads nightlife.
Wunderbar will offer affordable small bites and sausage plates until 1:00am every night, providing a lively complement to the nearby dining room. Special late-night values such as half-price sausage plates after 10pm and German beer specials will insure that the Wunderbar stays buzzing well into the evening. Come for a finely crafted cocktail and stay for a hearty sampling of Grunaeur’s specialty foods.
Fine coffees are provided by Julius Meinl, a world famous Viennese café and roaster. Smooth, nutty shots are pulled from Grunauer’s shiny red espresso machine, a centerpiece of the dining room. Meinl’s rich coffee is the perfect way to finish satisfying meal or begin an interesting evening.
Featured Austrian beer and wines include Eggenberg Doppelbock and Samichlaus Helles bottled beer and Salomon, Hopler and Huber Hugo Gruner Veltliner, alight and popular white wine. All drinks can be enjoyed under the twinkling lights and greenery of the beer garden tucked against the restaurant’s south side. Patio tables afford a sprawling view of the downtown skyline and invite lingering over a leisurely outdoor meal or drink.
Additionally, look for a selection of Austrian schnapps (high-proof fruit spirits, often made in the Austrian Alps) to become available in the coming months, making Grunauer one of the very few places in the region to offer this classic European specialty.
